Welcome! and thank you for visiting. I am Jane Wood McFeely, wife, mom, community volunteer, life long resident of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and a very happy artist. I have always found joy in creating artwork. Painting, drawing, crafting and creating have made for messy hands over the years but I can not imagine life without these forms of self expression. Early on, the desire to share my colorful world led me to elementary school teaching. I loved exploring art with classrooms full of creative and enthusiastic students. It was an exhilarating and fulfilling experience. I cherish those lively days and my wonderful kids. In 1999 the time came for me to switch gears and explore more deeply my love of painting. With the support of family, friends and patrons, I began painting full time at home and eventually built a wonderful studio in which to work.
My subjects are inspired by the textures, colors and emotions gathered while traveling near and far from my easel. Using only palette - painting knives and generous amounts of oil paints, my work attempts to capture joyful slices of life. I love to work with clients to recreate special places and memories. Homes, cottages, boats, gardens, beaches and still life all provide inspiration for original works of art.
For more than 20 years, I have had the honor of being a featured artist in charity and benefit auctions around the country. My paintings for these non-profit organizations are usually painted specifically to capture the hearts of those bidding for their cause.
Please visit this website from time to time to see my latest paintings, as I periodically change and update the work displayed. Just click on the portfolios listed beneath the word WELCOME and enjoy! I invite you to contact me by e-mail or phone to discuss the availability of current paintings, plan a special commission or arrange a visit to my studio.
I appreciate your interest and look forward to hearing from you.
THANK YOU!
